About the Leather We Use:
Buttero Vegetable Tanned Leather comes from Conceria Walpier Tannery in Tuscany, Italy. They are well-known for their traditional methods of vegetable tanning with tree barks that go back hundreds of years. Buttero is quite unique in its characteristics. It is firmer than vacchetta leather; this stiffness gives a nice rigidity to projects. It is fully vegetable-tanned and will patina nicely over time.
About Two Mites:
Two Mites is a collection of products that all revolve around meaningful Bible verses, stories, and lessons. The name comes from the passage in Luke chapter 21 where a woman gives two mites into the collection. She gave all that she had from the heart, just as we hope to put our hearts into these products and enable others to help us with this journey.
This idea has guided us to create products that are simple enough for anyone to create and beautiful enough to share as the perfect gift. In the future, we plan to teach others how to create these products, earn money for their families, and have a sense of joy in knowing that they helped create something that will be cherished for years.
